Samsung has released variants of Korea-specific Galaxy W smartphone as Galaxy TabQ (SM-T2558 and SM-T2556) in the Chinese market. Now listed on the Samsung China website, the tablet packs the same specifications as the Galaxy W but skips LTE-A connectivity for just LTE-support.
Headed to China Mobile and China Unicom telecom operators in the country, this tablet features a 7-inch HD display, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 3200 mAh battery, 8MP rear camera and 2MP front camera. The China website of the company doesn’t reveal the exact Android version, RAM or internal storage of the device but it is likely be Android 4.3, 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB on-board storage as the same are present in Galaxy W.
There is no word on the pricing or whether the tablet will be released in other countries but we hope to hear from the company in the coming weeks. (via)
Galaxy S5 Exynos & Snapdragon versions getting software update
In related news, Samsung has started rolling out a performance enhancement update for Galaxy S5’s Exynos and Snapdragon versions. The update is now live in all major markets.
Around 200 MB in size, the update seems to be improving the fingerprint scanner recognition and includes bug-fixes. Full change-log is not available right now. If you haven’t already received the update, go to Settings > More > About phone > Software update on your smartphone to manually look for the update. (via)
