Apple launches new 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pros with Faster Haswell processors and more RAM

Apple has just launched updated 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pros with faster versions of Intel’s fourth-generation Haswell processors, and increased the RAM to 8GB for the 13-inch models and 16GB for the 15-inch models.

Here’s a look at the new MacBook Pros:

13-inch MacBook Pros

The new base 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display model features a faster 2.6 GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.1GHz with 8GB of RAM and 128GB PCIe-based flash storage. It replaces the 13-inch MacBook Pro, which came with 2.4 GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor with 4GB of RAM and 128GB PCIe-based flash storage.

The second 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display model features a faster 2.6 GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.1GHz with 8GB of RAM and 256GB PCIe-based flash storage. It replaces the 13-inch MacBook Pro, which came with 2.4 GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor with 8GB of RAM and 256GB PCIe-based flash storage.

The third 13-inch MacBook with Retina Display model features a faster 2.8 GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.3GHz with 8GB of RAM and 512GB PCIe-based flash storage. It replaces the 13-inch MacBook Pro, which came with 2.6 GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor with 8GB of RAM and 512GB PCIe-based flash storage.

The new 13-inch MacBook Pros are available for $1299, $1499 and $1799 respectively, which is the same price as previous generation MacBook Pros. In case of the 13-inch MacBook Pro with 2.6GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 processor, you have the option to upgrade to 2.8GHz Dual-core Intel Core i5 processor with Turbo Boost up to 3.3GHz, or 3.0GHz Dual-core Intel Core i7 processor with Turbo Boost up to 3.5GHz for $100 or $200 respectively. In case of the high-end 15-inch MacBook Pro, you have the option to upgrade to a 3.0GHz Dual-core Intel Core i7 processor with Turbo Boost up to 3.5GHz for $100.

You can also upgrade the memory to 16GB from 8GB for $200.

15-inch MacBook Pros

The new base 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display model features a faster 2.2 GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.4GHz with 16GB of RAM and 256GB PCIe-based flash storage. It replaces the 15-inch MacBook Pro, which came with 2.0GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor with 8GB of RAM and 256GB PCIe-based flash storage.

The new high-end 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display model features a faster 2.5 GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.7GHz with 16GB of RAM and 256GB PCIe-based flash storage. It replaces the 15-inch MacBook Pro, which came with 2.3GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor with 16GB of RAM and 512GB PCIe-based flash storage.

The new 15-inch MacBook Pros are available for $1999 and $2499 respectively, which is the same price as previous generation MacBook Pros. In case of the 15-inch MacBook Pro with 2.2GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor, you have the option to upgrade to the 2.5GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor with Turbo Boost up to 3.7GHz, or 2.8GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor with Turbo Boost up to 4.0GHz for $100 or $300 respectively. In case of the 15-inch MacBook Pro with 2.5GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor, you have the option to upgrade to the 2.8GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor with Turbo Boost up to 4.0GHz for $200.

You can also upgrade the storage to 512GB PCIe-based Flash Storage or 1TB PCIe-based Flash Storage for additional $300 or $800 respectively from 256GB or to 1TB PCIe-based Flash Storage for $500 from 512GB.

The shipping times for all the new MacBook Pro models is currently showing up as “within 24 hours.” The new MacBook Pros are already available on Apple’s Online Store, and will be also be available at Apple’s Retail stores and third-party resellers.
